Prices and specifications revealed for Kia’s impressive new EV6 as reservations open

Kia have released full pricing and specifications of their all-new full electric car which is due to be the most ground-breaking Kia to date.

Highlights include:

• Prices starting from £40,895
• Over 300 miles range
• No option for smaller battery in the UK
• First deliveries expected in October 2021
• Three trim levels available from launch
• 577bhp performance model available second half of 2022

Kia EV6 styling

Our overall reception of the EV6 is overwhelmingly positive. The Kia EV6 is remarkably similar in shape to the Ford Mustang Mach-E, adopting a similar sleek and sporty ‘dolphin-nose’ design.

Some angles of the car, particularly the rear three-quarters look distinctively SUV, but the low and aggressive nose of the car and sleek and sharp angles and air ducts means it somehow sits like a sporty hatchback, avoiding the love-it-or-hate-it bulbous appearance of Volkswagen’s ID range.

The front genuinely looks like it means business, and the (Audi inspired?) full-length tail light bar makes for a modern and interesting rear view. We are really excited to see one of these in the flesh.

Kia EV6 trim levels, pricing and specifications

The Kia EV6 will launch initially with three trim levels, with all EV6s in the UK line-up featuring only the larger 77.4kWh battery, with no plans for the smaller capacity battery to arrive on our shores.

A generous suite of standard equipment features on all trim levels of the EV6, including a vegan leather upholstery, LED lights, heated seat and steering wheel, rear parking sensors, cruise control and driving assist.

Entry level Kia EV6s start from £40,895 and are powered by a 226bhp motor powering solely the rear wheels.

Step up to the EV6 GT-Line and you’ll gain performance inspired exterior and interior styling changes, black wheels, front parking sensors and more. You’re offered either the same single motor rear wheel drive motor as the entry level model for £43,895, or you can opt for the dual-motor 321bhp model with all wheel drive for an extra three and a half grand.

Until the incredible range topping performance model, the EV6 GT arrives, the GT-Line S tops the range. For £48,395 (rear wheel drive) to £51,895 (all wheel drive) you’ll get ventilated front seats, heated outer rear seats, a powered tailgate, panoramic sunroof, a head up display as well as a suite of driving, parking and collision avoidance assists.

The Kia EV6 GT, the powerful flagship performance model arrives mid to late 2022, which features obscenely powerful motors for a total of 577bhp, as much power as a £130k plus Mercedes AMG GT R. Kia tells us engineers are targeting a 0-60 mph sprint of 3.5 seconds, making the EV6 a serious performer.
